Cemetery Department

The Cemetery Department has a Superintendent, who works under the guidance of the Select Board and the Town Administrator, and works with the cemetery committee. Among other duties, the Superintendent is responsible for lot sales, all record keeping, community communications, historical research requests, coordination with funeral homes and families, and overseeing the maintenance perpetual care of the cemeteries. The Cemetery Rules and Regulations cited below have more information.

Jay Coonradt, owner of Sycamore Landscaping (802) 688-3272, is our contractor who handles the mowing of the cemeteries.

4th Sunday for Veterans

We invite you to participate in a meaningful mission to honor our veterans by helping restore and preserve their final resting places. The program, is called 4th Sunday for Veterans. This initiative will focus on our five cemeteries, starting with Village Cemetery. headstone cleaning before Depending on the number of volunteers and the amount of work needed at each cemetery. On the 4th Sunday of each month - 9:00am-12:00pm (May-October - Weather Permitting). We will gather for a work party dedicated to cleaning and repairing the headstones of our military veterans.

We have completed Village Cemetery, and are now working in Center Cemetery. Sessions will be:

• June 28th, 2026 - Center Cemetery - 9:00am-12:00pm
• July 26th, 2026 - Center Cemetery - 8:30am-11:30am
• August 23rd, 2026 - Center Cemetery - 8:30am-11:30am
• September 27th, 2026 - Center Cemetery - 8:30am-11:30am
