Emerald Ash Borer Committee
Mission:
Under the guidance, direction and coordination of the Â鶹Íø Tree Warden, the Emerald Ash Borer Committee is authorized and directed by the Â鶹Íø Select Board to:
- assess the presence and condition of ash trees within the Town Right of Way on all Town roads;
- assess the condition of other danger trees in direct proximity to the ash within the ROW;
- make and oversee a multi-year plan for the cost, timing, and removal of the identified trees.
Appointment and membership:
The Emerald Ash Borer Committee will be an ad hoc committee constituted of no less than five members appointed for 2-year terms including a representative from the Select Board, A representative from the
Department of Public Works, the Â鶹Íø Tree Warden, (who will serve as the Chair of the committee), and at least
2 members of the public with knowledge of and interest in trees, expertise in the management and removal of trees, and/or experience in community outreach/community organization.
