James Clark is on a Pay Roll of Capt. Josiah Boyden's Company in Col. William William's Regiment of Militia in the service of the United States on an expedition to Bennington, & c, in 1777. He entered the service on Sept. 24 and was discharged Oct. 20, 1777. He was in service 26 days.

James Clark is on the Pay Roll of Capt. Stephen Calkin's Company of Militia is an alarm in March 1780 by order of Col. Eben Allen, in the county of Rutland.
